Northwest Quadrant

From historic Old Town to the Petroglyph National Monument, the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center to the North Valley, you will be submersed in the rich cultural diversity of Albuquerque. Visit the American International Rattlesnake Museum in Old Town for an up-close and personal interaction with the largest collection of different species of live rattlesnakes in the world! And don’t forget to enjoy the unique pueblo deco style of the KiMo Theater, one of Albuquerque’s best-known landmarks.

Northeast Quadrant

Located at the base of the Sandia Mountains and continuing from Central Avenue to the Sandia Peak Aerial Tram is northeast Albuquerque. Partake in family fun activities like hiking in the mountains, learning about past cultures in the Maxwell Museum of Anthropology at the University of New Mexico, or shopping at one of two malls located in the Uptown area. You can also absorb the history of hot air ballooning at the Anderson-Abruzzo International Balloon Museum or enjoy the peaceful tranquility of the Cibola National Forest.

Southwest Quadrant

In the southwest quadrant, you’ll find the area known as the South Valley. Here you will discover many established communities like Los Padillas, Kinney and Mountainview. Enjoy the sites, sounds and experience of the Bosque, the National Hispanic Cultural Center and the Albuquerque Biological Park with your whole family. For the beer connoisseur in your group, visit Bee’s Brothers Meadery for a taste of homegrown beer. The southwest region also houses part of historic Old Town—an area of Albuquerque where tourists and natives alike can enjoy traditional New Mexican culture, food and entertainment.

Southeast Quadrant

Lose yourself in some authentic Albuquerque culture when you visit the southeast quadrant of the city. From the University Arena called “The Pit” to the historic Nob Hill shopping Center on Route 66, you can become an Albuquerquean for a day or a lifetime. Be sure, also, to find out what makes the planned community of Mesa del Sol, meaning “Table of the Sun,” a hotspot for future home building!
